Most standard "Tom Thumbs" on the market feature a harsh single-jointed center that collapses hard against the horse’s tongue and bars. The Mullen mouth tom thumb  features a solid, gently curved mullen bar. It distributes rein pressure perfectly across the bars and tongue, preventing roof-of-the-mouth poking or lip pinching.

No more bit-pulling panics. Our precisely balanced vertical cheek bars (wings) completely prevent the bit from sliding through the horse's mouth if they resist a cue. When you pull the right rein, the left wing applies a reassuring, gentle "push" against the horse's left cheek. It gives green horses an instant, highly visual physical cue of exactly where you want them to turn.
